| Driving on real bumpy roads will make the car look and sound like crap. Think of all the parts that are bolted together that will eventually work themselves loose after driving on city streets. Countless interior pieces will become rattly and many exterior pieces too. Basically anything that can become loose from vibration will start to get loose and rattle. Then in addition to that is the other thing you mentioned, the stop and go driving. Stop and go driving is more likely to wear out your transmission and brakes. When you're driving on the highway the car isn't taking much of a pounding, it's operating at a nice constant pace.
